Little Blue Zebra is a family run business specialising in beautifully illustrated animal wall art. We are two sisters, Lucy and Joanna, and our Dad, award-winning children's book illustrator, John Butler.
We are all passionate about beautiful design and inspiring children to love nature and wildlife.
Both mums to three children ourselves, we set up Little Blue Zebra so that our Dad's much-loved animal illustrations could be enjoyed and admired on children's walls as well as in his books.
Many of the illustrations in our prints feature in his best-selling books: Whose Baby Am I?, Who Says Woof? and If You See a Kitten.
We are committed to protecting the natural world:
~ All our designs are printed on FSC certified fine art paper.
- Prints are protected in clear biodegradable, compostable cello bags.
~ We use FSC-certified, acid-free tissue paper printed with soy-based inks.
~ We send our smaller prints in plastic-free, climate neutral and fully recyclable board envelopes. Our larger prints are sent in fully recyclable cardboard tubes. These tubes currently have recyclable plastic cap ends but we will be switching to completely plastic-free tubes once our existing supplies have been used.
Lucy, Joanna & John
Lucy is a graphic designer who works with John to design all of our prints. Having previously worked at The Sunday Times, she is passionate about beautiful typography, colour and art.
Joanna is a qualified biologist and nature conservationist. She has always been inspired by nature and previously spent time living amongst lions and elephants working as a game ranger in South Africa. She now enjoys taking care of the business side of Little Blue Zebra.
John is an award-winning children's book illustrator and writer, acclaimed for his lovable and realistic renderings of animals. He has worked for the most prestigious publishing houses, illustrating over 60 books enjoyed by children worldwide in 20 countries. He cannot remember a time when he didn't draw, a passion that has turned into a lifelong pastime. He grew up fascinated by the natural world and spent many blissful days exploring the wild woodland garden surrounding his childhood home. When he isn't holding a paintbrush or pencil, he can often be found sailing around the UK and French coasts! You can read more about John and his beautiful books at www.johnbutlerart.com
