Award winning children's book illustrator John Butler is acclaimed for his lovable and realistic renderings of animals and the natural world. His much-adored books are enjoyed by babies and children worldwide and have been published in 20 countries.
John has illustrated over 60 books for young children, and has won awards in the UK and the USA. He has worked for many publishers including Orchard Books, Puffin and Templar in the UK and Simon & Schuster, Viking and Peachtree in the USA.
Little Blue Zebra is a family run business specialising in beautifully illustrated baby animal pictures for little ones. Featuring the artwork of award winning children’s book illustrator, John Butler, our unique, high quality prints capture the enchanting character of each adorable baby animal, from the sparkle in the Armadillo’s eye to the swishing tail of the little gawky Zebra.
Little Blue Zebra was co-founded by John’s daughters, Lucy Downes and Joanna Fisher. "Since we were very young, we've enjoyed watching our father’s illustrations come to life, from early sketches to finished picture books that have delighted and enthralled children all over the world. Now mothers ourselves, and having been inspired by our father's work when decorating our own children's nurseries, we set up Little Blue Zebra so that these adorable illustrations can be enjoyed as prints for your children or as gifts for friends and family."
Many of the animals featured in our prints are from John Butler's best-selling books, including 'Whose Baby Am I?', 'Whose Nose and Toes?', 'Who Says Woof?', and 'If You See a Kitten?'.
All our prints are designed by Lucy, a graphic designer who used to work at The Sunday Times newspaper in London. She has a passion for beautiful, clear, timeless design with a modern edge. They are printed by our specialist local printer and carefully packaged by our family team in our studio in Kent.
